Medieval Poetry, Liturgical Poems and Storytelling

This track is devoted to the study of  poetry and liturgical poems in Jewish communities around the world in different periods: the piyutim of Eretz Yisrael, piyutim in the ancient East, the sacred and profane Jewish poetry of Spain, Hebrew poetry in Italy and Germany, poetry and piyutim of Provence, Hebrew poetry in North Africa and Islamic countries, various forms of Hebrew storytelling in the Middle Ages, the Arabic maqama and its sub-genres, historiographic literature, Hebrew homiletics and more.
