ד"ר דב הכהן
מחקריו של ד"ר דב הכהן מתרכזים ביהודים-הספרדים (דוברי הלאדינו), בחקר יצירתם הספרותית ויבול הדפוס שלהם, בחקר תולדותיהם, תרבותם ולשונם. מחקריו מתפלגים לשלושה ענפים מרכזיים: עולם הספר בלאדינו, תולדות הקהילות והאישים בפזורות הספרדיות-היהודיות ופליאוגרפיה ספרדית-יהודית. עבודתו נשענת בראש ובראשונה על חומרים ארכיוניים רבים, תוך שימת לב להקשרם ההיסטורי, החברתי והתרבותי. הוא איתר בספריות ובאוספים בארץ ובעולם, דפוסים רבים בלאדינו בלתי ידועים עד כה, לרבות דפוסי לאדינו קדומים אותם חשף, מבין הכתבים שעלו מגניזת קהיר.
ספרו "אוצר הספר בלאדינו 1490–1960: ביבליוגרפיה מחקרית מוערת" (מכון בן-צבי, ירושלים 2021), המונה כמעט ארבעת אלפים פריטים, הוא הביבליוגרפיה המקיפה ביותר בתחום ספרות הלאדינו. מלבד ספרו, הוא כתב סדרה של מאמרים העוסקים ב"ארון הספרים" בלאדינו. מחקריו על אודות עולם הספר בלאדינו עוסקים במגוון רחב של סוגות ספרותיות שנכתבו בשפה זו, כגון תרגומי מקרא, ספרות חז"ל, ספרות רבנית, ספרות הלכה, ספרות מוסר, דרשות, ושירה מחד גיסא, ותיאטרון, עיתונות, פרסומים קצרי מועד (Ephemera) ואף ספרות אֶגוֹדוֹקוּמֶנְטָרית (כגון ספרי זיכרונות), מאידך גיסא.
מחקריו בתחום תולדות הקהילות והאישים בפזורות הספרדיות-היהודיות עוסקים בהיסטוריה של הקהילות דוברות הספרדית-היהודית עם דגש על תולדות המשפחות והאישים שפעלו בהן, לתופעות ולתהליכים חברתיים, תרבותיים והיסטוריים. אחד המאפיינים הבולטים במאמריו בתחומים אלה הוא בחשיפתם של חיבורים, של יצירות ושל טקסטים בלתי ידועים בשפה הספרדית-היהודית ובחשיפת זהותם של מחברים ושל יצירות בלאדינו.
